The date for the third annual Community Coffee Morning in aid of Cancer Fund for Children has been announced, and its set to be a monumental milestone for EUROSPAR and VIVOXTRA.
On Saturday 23rd March 2019, over 60 EUROSPAR and VIVOXTRA Supermarkets will host a Community Coffee Morning in aid of Cancer Fund for Children which will push the fundraising total for the charity past £1,000,000.
So far, the Community Coffee Mornings have contributed almost £100,000 towards the huge milestone after being introduced in 2017, and the event in 2018 was Cancer Fund for Children’s biggest partnership event of the year.
Jade Manning, Assistant Brand Manager for EUROSPAR and VIVOXTRA, part of the Henderson Group in Northern Ireland commented; “Since we launched the Community Coffee Morning as our flagship partnership event with Cancer Fund for Children, we have been overwhelmed by the support from our retailers and shoppers. In our first year, we raised almost £36,000 and in 2018 an amazing £58,000. EUROSPAR and ViVOXTRA stores are at the heart of so many communities in Northern Ireland, something that we’re incredibly proud of.
“We now have over 60 community supermarkets taking part, welcoming their local shoppers for coffee and traybakes in exchange for a donation to a great cause. We’re so proud that our contributions have been vital in providing families with travel for treatment grants, residential support and short family breaks at Cancer Fund for Children’s Daisy Lodge facility in Newcastle, County Down.”
Leo Donaghy, Corporate Fundraiser at Cancer Fund for Children added; “The support that Cancer Fund for Children has received from EUROSPAR and VIVOXTRA supermarkets in the past eight years can be measured beyond pounds and pence.
“Each and every Community Supermarket has contributed their time and efforts into making this partnership one of our most stand-out corporate partnerships, and the annual Community Coffee Morning has grown in strength, year on year. It is fitting that this is the event to take us past the £1,000,000 mark and we thank everybody involved for their continued support and passion for all that Cancer Fund for Children does to empower, connect and strengthen local families dealing with the impact of a cancer diagnosis and the journey beyond that.”
Since the partnership began in 2011, over £950,000 has been raised through international treks and climbs as well as local community initiatives, and it is expected the 2019 Community Coffee Morning will push the total past the £1,000,000 milestone.
